In the Shadow of Giants

Here's a self-portrait to provide additional perspective on the size of these trees. This was my first visit to Yosemite's Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoia. I arrived at the trailhead before dawn in order to climb the two miles to the Upper Grove by the time first light hit. Adding to this awe-inspiring experience was the fact that there was not another person around for miles.
